Austerity
Have you been affected?  And, has austerity worked?

The Oxford English Dictionary (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/austerity) describes Austerity as; Difficult economic conditions created by government measures to reduce public expenditure.  Essentially, make people poorer to boost the Conservatives failing economy.

Public expenditure reduction affects The NHS, Local Authorities, the Police and Fire Service, the military and many other government agencies.  Austerity has affected benefits, increased homelessness, A & E waiting times and caused the failure and bankruptcy of Local Authorities such as Northampton County Council and, at time of writing, possibly Surrey County Council.  Both Northampton and Surrey are Conservative run Councils.

An excuse to bring in austerity was that it was a reaction to Labour's management of the economy even though it is nearly a decade since Labour was in power.
Austerity has made lives miserable and caused the premature deaths of an estimated 120,000 people according to a report by The British Medical Journal (http://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/7/11/e017722).  The report suggests that restriction of health provision amounts to "Economic murder", criticism of this report was limited and amounted to the Department of Health stating that the figures were "speculative".
